Civil War veteran Cyrus S. Dewey died in 1936 at the age of 93.
He was the last surviving Summerfield veteran and served two years in the cavalry regiment.
Born in Pennsylvania, he enlisted in Company F, Third Regiment of the Michigan Cavalry Volunteers, according to Evening News archives.
He received an honorable discharge on Feb. 12, 1866.
