GARLIC CROUTONS

Bonnie Kregel, Monroe

1 loaf of stale bread (course bread is best; can also use old hot dog or hamburg buns)
2 sticks of margarine
1 teaspoon Garlic
1 teaspoon Garlic powder
parsley flakes, optional

Cut bread or buns in small squares. Dry in a 200 degree oven on cookie sheet. Melt margarine in microwave with the garlic, garlic powder and parsley flakes if desired. Can either use a baster to drizzle the garlic mixture over the croutons or empty cereal bags work very well by putting the croutons in the bag and pouring the garlic mixture over the croutons and shaking the bag. (Plastic bags do not work because the garlic mixture sticks to the bag.) Bake in a 200 degree oven on the cookie sheet until the croutons become crisp and brown.
